Well Hello There
For a more formal introduction…
My name’s Jess, and even though we’ve already started this adventure of my philosophical waxing on the nature of the comic book universes, I felt it was time you go to know me. I’ll be twenty-six years old in September, and have a Bachelor’s degree in writing and literature. I enjoy writing and reading all forms of fiction. I was introduced to comics at an early age, as my older brothers, who will always be my two favorite superheros, read to them to me. I can remember them pointing to the characters asking, “who’s this?” In a tiny voice I would manage, “Joker,” or “Flash.” I suppose comics helped form my love for literature, art, and popular fiction. Besides my brothers, my other favorite superheros are Doctor Strange, Daredevil, Wonder Woman, and Superman. When I’m not reading comics, I usually have an Alice Hoffman novel to finish up. Her prose is beauty, simply. I’m also a reality tv junkie and watch the Discovery channel, the Learning channel, the history channel, Comedy Central, and of course, the Cartoon Network. I mourn the loss of Futurama, but celebrate new episodes of Robot Chicken. I would not write if there were no music. I listen to a wide range of artists, but lately I’ve been listening to Brandi Carlile, Stevie Nicks, 30 Seconds to Mars, Tool, Sarah Mclachan, Amy Winehouse, Evansecence, and Evan’s Blue. If you have any questions, or comments, as always, feel free to send me a message. Thanks again for reading!
