Revelations: A Laundry List
No big post as I prepare for a much-needed July 4th vacation day. So in place, I thought I’d write up a laundry list - if you will - of all the dirty little secrets revealed throughout your favorite comic book titles. Prepare for SPOILERS folks . . . there’s a lot of them.
- Slain by Echo, Elektra was revealed to be a Skrull to all the members of the New Avengers. The extent of this infiltration is unknown, but there is at least one more Skrull - Luke Cage’s baby in the New Avengers’ new digs!
- A Messiah is coming for the X-Men to reunite the teams in a way they haven’t been for years. Unfortunately, the group sustained a crippling of near-apocalyptic proportions this month. Cable was beaten by ex-X-Men-turned-ex-Horsemen-of-Apocalypse-turned-Marauders Gambit and Sunfire. Cable then detonated a self-destruct sequence, destroying the entire complex - and possibly himself in the process. If that weren’t enough, Rogue was shot by her mother, Mystique, and Iceman was injured as well. Lady Mastermind has been revealed to be a traitor, while another member, Omega Sentinel, has been possessed by the computer virus Malice.
-And just when you thought NOTHING could top that, the Sinestro Corps not only debuted, but inducted another member into their ranks - Parallax. After revealing his role in the killing the mother of Kyle Rayner, Sinestro had the parasite infect the emotionally-unstable Green Lantern, creating a new version of the murderous entitiy. Sinestro also extracted two other super-villianous figures from the Lantern Homeworld - the mass murdering Superboy-Prime and the genocidal Cyborg Superman. Combined with Parallax, these three form the heralds of a familiar menace - the Anti-Montior, who first threatened existence in the original Crisis of Infinite Earths!
While you are swallowing all of that, have a nice Fourth of July to everyone Stateside!
